Holiday Party: Planning A Party You Don’t Need To Work At

With a holiday party, you may feel that you have to spend your days before working to get ready and then spend the party catering to everyone else’s needs. If you want to through a holiday party that is more stress free and enjoyable to you, there are several key things that you will want to take into consideration. Remember, this is supposed to be a time where you can sit down and relax and enjoy the holidays with those that you love. If you do not feel that it is going to happen that way, take into consideration a few thoughts here.

First off, take into consideration the various holiday parties that you have spent slaving in the kitchen. If you do not think you can afford to have your holiday party catered, do a bit or homework first. Talk to several different caters, request sample meals and pricing packages. What you may not realize is that they often get food at a much lower cost which can in turn help them to lower their budget. Or, you can tell them what your budget is and see if they can offer some help to you. If you decide that you just can’t handle the price of a holiday party catering then look for wholesale clubs that sell prepackaged appetizers. Plan meals that can be at least, somewhat done in advance.

Another benefit to getting some help for your holiday party is to seek out the help of a cleaning service. Many worry about what the house looks like or all of the chores that need to be done before you can host your holiday party. Yet, it can be quite affordable to take full advantage of a local cleaning company to come in and do all of the tough work for you.

A holiday party does not need to be overly stressful for anyone involved. In fact, those that are looking for a great party that they can feel relaxed at need to just think of other ways to make things happen for them. Instead of spending countless hours planning, working and worrying, think of an alternative solution like those we mentioned here fore your next holiday party.

Birthdays on Holidays - How to Plan a Birthday Party When it Falls on a Holiday

Many think that celebrating a birthday with a major holiday would make it extra special. It does, however, the holiday can cloud the birthday and make it difficult to plan a party with friends and family members who may already have their own holiday agendas. If your child’s birthday party falls on or around a holiday such as Thanksgiving or Christmas, it may be worthy of considering the following ways to celebrate the birthday:

Birthdays on Floating Holidays

For children born around holidays with floating dates, such as Thanksgiving, plan to host a birthday party several weeks before or several weeks after the holiday. Consider celebrating on the child’s half birthday with a cake and small gift. This will distinguish their birthday from the holiday.

Birthdays on Set Holidays

For birthdays that fall on a holiday with a set date each year, such as Christmas, it may be best to celebrate the birthday with a small family party on the day. Consider hosting a birthday party several weeks before or several weeks after the holiday. In addition to the small family party on the birthday, consider hosting a larger party with friends and family members on the child’s half birthday. In essence, this creates two birthday parties for the child and makes for a fun family tradition. It also avoids over-stimulation caused by opening birthday gifts and gifts associated with the holiday.

Let the holiday stress move on and provide the birthday person with a unique day to focus on their special event.

3 Types of Party Accessories (Party And Holiday Accessory Retail )

There are three types of party accessories. You've got the stuff people wear, the decorations at the party and the take-home gifts. Each one is a valuable part of the party, without the décor its just like you've invited friends over for dinner, which is nice but often not what you'd intended. Similarly without the accessories for guests to wear they may not feel part of the atmosphere, just feel like observers in a festive environment. Lastly, the take home gifts give the party goers something to remember the event by, be it a trinket or some candies.

Accessories for your guests come in many shapes and sizes. There are silly hats, noisemakers, masks and jewelry amongst other things. Depending on the type of party you're having you may want a specific type of accessory. You can add instant Hawaiian atmosphere by greeting guests at the door with Leis or hand out beaded necklaces and masks at a Mardi Gras party.

Décor is what makes the party and there are all kinds of decoration, garlands, streamers, balloons, confetti and did I already say balloons? Anyway the décor gives the place a festive atmosphere and brightens people's moods on entering a room. You want to choose the right type of accessory to decorate your party, garland for Christmas and confetti on New Year's.

Party favors as said will give your guests something material to help them remember the party, for as long as you desire. If you wish you can give them candies which will last about a day or so and you can say you ended the party with something sweet. Or you can handout items that hang from the car's rear view mirror, so every time they get in the car they'll remember where they got that pair of fuzzy dice.

Dressing for Your Holiday Office Party: What To Wear!

by: Victoria Winston
How to go from 9-to-5 to After-5 in A Flash!

It’s 5 o’clock – but it’s not quitting time. Instead, it’s the holiday office party . And if you're like most women it's an event that can leave you shrugging your shoulders and wondering what in the world to wear.

Complicating matters further: When you don’t have time to stop home and change – and must go right from a day behind a computer to a night of champagne cocktails.

But before try to spend the day doing spread sheets in a sequined tank top and glittery tulle skirt listen up: With just a little clever accessorizing you can turn any typical work outfit into a classy party look.

Where do you begin? By starting your day with the most basic wardrobe essentials - a black or other solid color suit or dress. Or, if you wear slacks to work, choose a pair of solid trousers and matching color sweater.

Now if you're thinking that so far, this doesn't sound very festive, hold on - because the magic is about to begin. Waving the wand is the power of accessories - the best way to go from daytime to nighttime in a flash!

To help you get started: Here are 10 super CountryDutchess tips that can turn any basic work attire into a glamorous night time look .The best part: You can carry the entire transformation in a plastic baggy stashed in your purse!

1. Never overlook the glam power of a great pair of earrings. And, the more dramatic the better. If you always wear nothing but small studs or tiny hoops, here’s a chance to wow colleagues with your style by choosing a dramatic pair of Boho chandeliers or a dressy crystal drop earring. It's instant glamour for even the simplest dress.

2. Fill in your neckline with color and light, adding either a sparkly lame scarf, or better still, a crystal necklace in a shimmering gold, silver or bright color. This will bring both light and color to your face and dramatically change your overall look.

3. If you’re not the necklace type jazz up your look with several brightly colored crystal pins. But skip the Christmas trees, wreaths that light up when you pull the string and Santa Claus faces. Instead chose one, large glistening crystal pin reminiscent of a snow flake and surround it with several smaller styles in colors that match either your earrings . . .or your eyes!

4. Bracelets can also add instant glamour but this year the look is to wear them in multiples in different textures and colors. If you start with a few crystal beaded designs, you can then add a metal bangle or a dress watch into the mix for a look that is eclectic and casual, yet festive. Push up the sleeves on your jacket or sweater, to give bracelets maximum exposure.

5. Another great “glam” look this year is matching cuff bracelets, one for each hand. To create the look for less, skip the expensive precious metal and gemstones and opt for costume cuffs set with faux stones.

6. Remember those plain black pumps that carried you up the train steps and down the hall all day long? Glam them up as well with this year’s hottest new style accessory – shoe clips! From floppy chiffon bows, to glistening crystal flowers, to tailored, gold or silver insignias, you can quickly turn a plain pump into a designer shoe - and take your entire outfit to a whole new level in the process.

7. Finish off your look with one, fabulously large cocktail ring – a great fake won on any finger. Indeed, the look this year is “You've got it, so flaunt it” style – using large center stones to create a big presence on even the tiniest of hands. But remember, just one is all you need!

8. Nothing screams “day at the office” more than a clunky, large tote bag –and it can ruin an otherwise perfect evening look. To keep that from happening, pare down the essentials you normally carry and take only the things you really need - like a driver's license, credit card, cash and keys. Then tuck in a small evening bag. When party time arrives, transfer the essentials to the smaller bag and tuck the tote in a desk drawer or locker and retrieve it the next day.

9. When it comes to glammjng up your makeup, don’t try to redo your entire face. Instead use only a few products to add accents of glamour - like a frosted lipstick, an extra coat of mascara, and just a hint of frosted powder or blush (not both) on the very tops of your cheekbones and around the perimeter of your hairline. Remember, you don’t want to look like Tinkerbell – so use a light hand.

10. For instant party hair, pick up one of those fabulous new clip-on chignons – faux hair that attaches to your own hair with a secure butterfly clip. If you have long hair, pull it back in a bun or pony tail and clip on the piece. If your hair is short, tuck in the ends with bobby pins and clip the chignon at the base of your neck , Add those glamorous earrings and you'll have instant ballerina glamour - chic, sophisticated and stylish!

Holiday Party Fashion - Keep it Simple for an Easy Transition (Party and Holiday Accessory Retail)

Party and Holiday Accessory Retail

Holiday office parties can be quite stressful. Office parties that take start right after work can often be even more stressful. How do you make the transition from your day time attire to your evening wear? The key to making a seamless transition from day to night and therefore office to office party is simplicity and versatility. Here are some great tips to help you look great for your office holiday party.

Accessorize:Accessories are a great way to take an outfit from day to night. Something as simple as an oversized, ornate, belt, wrapped around your waste can completely transform your look. Your accessories don't' need to be over the top to be effective. Strategically placed jewelry can also create a party time look in a matter of seconds.

Sweater: A sweater is a great way to keep things dressed down during working hours. While your dress or top may not be exactly office appropriate by day, it may be absolutely fine for you're after work festivities. Wearing a sweater over your party clothing will help you easily transition from day to night.

Shoes: A nice pair of flats keep things business casual in a practical way, but a hot pair of stilettos will have your ready for a night of fun. Where flats to work the day of your office party and then as soon as the clock hits five change into your sassy high heeled shoes to complete your look.

Hair: With only a moments to spare, and few tools to work with getting your hair party ready can be a nightmare. If you generally don't put a lot of time and effort into your hair before work, you may want to consider doing so the morning of your party. If you have long hair consider styling it down, that way if it doesn't' make it through the day you can pull it back. If you have short hair, style it as you normally do but be sure to bring a classy and cute headband or scarf as well as beauty supplies to work in case you need to do some damage control.

Makeup: Changing your makeup from day to night is a breeze with the right tools and products. While your makeup during office hours may be a little conservative, you can get it ready for a party atmosphere by just refreshing your foundation (no need to completely reapply) and adding some shimmery lip gloss, and eyeliner. To keep things simple, stick to the bare necessities during the day to prevent any smudging or the need for makeup remover. At five bring out the big guns and put some eye liner on your eyes and use eye shadow for a dramatic look. Simply brush some shimmering lip gloss over your lips and your ready to go.

Retail Party And Holiday Accessory Shopping

Party and Holiday Accessory Retail
The Internet has grown significantly year after year since it's inception and it's growth has begun to harm traditional retail party and holiday accessory shopping venues. Or has it?

Though there are many advantages of purchasing party and holiday accessories online, there are still many advantages to buying them from a retail store. Even with the latest technologies of live chat, blogging and other interactions there is little doubt that for most shoppers, they still want to look into someone's face when purchasing a retail party and holiday accessory, such as decorations or other party and holiday accessories.

A party and holiday accessory retail store can offer many other significant benefits to the party and holiday accessory buyer. One of the main benefits is service, plain and simple, it's a real, live smiling(or frowning) human being.

There is a certain personal detachment many shoppers experience when buying online. Some of the main benefits for going shopping are in fact social ones. It gets you moving! A retail party and holiday accessory shopping spree can make you feel better, by getting you out of the house, and interacting with other living beings, besides your mouse!

Shopping for party and holiday accessory's retail does have a few drawbacks and in fact, some of them are actually exactly the same as a few of the benefits. It makes you go out, and makes you interact with people, and some of us don't like that!

Another benefit of shopping online for some is that you know whether an item is in stock without having to leave the house. However when going to a party and holiday accessory retail store, you spend the time browsing their shelves to find out whether certain items are in stock or not, part of the experience I guess.

All in all shopping at a party and holiday accessory retail store still has many benefits you can't get from an online shopping experience. As technology develops further this may not hold true. The party and holiday accessory retail store of the future may combine features of both to give the ultimate shopping experience.

Must-Do’s For The Holiday Selling Season - How To Cash In On The Busiest Retail Season Of The Year

Must-Do’s For The Holiday Selling Season - How To Cash In On The Busiest Retail Season Of The Year By: Chris Malta & Robin Cowie

The holidays are a great time to be a retailer — sixty percent of all retail sales are made during the holiday season. Millions of new online shoppers make their first Internet purchases during this season, and their experiences there can either erase their hesitancies about online shopping, or reinforce them. This gives you, as an E-Biz owner, an opportunity to create loyal customers and generate repeat business.

That’s why you need to be ready when the holidays roll around — so you don’t get taken by surprise. Most people think the shopping season starts right after Thanksgiving. But Lisa Suttora of http://whatdoisell.com/ instructs, “Holiday shoppers actually come online right about mid-August, when back-to-school-shopping tapers off, and they stay online until the end of January when they’ve spent all their extra holiday money.” The best way for you to cash in on the holiday buying season is to be prepared well in advance.

How to Prepare for the Holiday Season:
1. Get your inventory listed early. You don’t want to spend the holidays playing catch-up, so have your goods ready to go:
• Take stock of your inventory. Get it organized, and determine what needs to be listed.
• Systematize your operation. Don’t try to go through the entire listing process with each individual item. First, photograph all your items. Then upload and edit all your photos. Then write all your listings, and compile all your descriptions. Streamlining your processes this way will save you a great deal of time.

2. Have a shipping game plan.
The number one concern of holiday buyers is whether their purchases will make it on time, so timely shipping is crucial.
• Stock up on shipping materials prior to the holiday selling season. You can even order your shipping supplies online at http://usps.com/.
• Prepackage your products, whenever possible. This way you can just print a label off and be ready to go.
• You can, in most cases, arrange to have the post office pick up your packages at no charge, rather than standing in line for hours.

3.Customize according to your buyers’ needs.

• Offer gift wrapping and gift-recipient delivery. Customers value their time, especially around the holidays, and they’ll pay extra for the service and convenience.
• Provide them with multiple shipping options. By offering overnight and express delivery, you can make sales all the way to December 24 that your competitors who only offer priority mail will miss.
• Create unique gift packages. Suggests Suttora, “You can put a Curious George stuffed toy with a Curious George book and movie, and wrap them together in Curious George paper. What you’re doing is pre-shopping for your customers.”

Customer Service is King
If your holiday customers have a good shopping experience with you, they’ll most likely come again. Be in constant communication with them — you’re letting them know you’re on top of things. Always let them know their tracking numbers and order status. Respond to their emails quickly — not 24 hours later.

Following up your sales is just as important. When the sale is over, send them a thank you note — you’re reminding them you’re there and giving yourself a chance to promote your new products. By building consumer confidence, you’ll produce repeat business throughout the rest of the year.

Planning A Holiday Party? Spice It Up!

Planning A Holiday Party? Spice It Up! -By: Jordan Marston-

Are you tired of the same old boring Holiday parties that everyone else is having? Here are some surefire hits for Christmas parties and other holiday parties with a little more life.
The Cookie Exchange
For this party, each person bakes a pile of Christmas cookies before hand. If there are seven couples or people coming, then each person bakes seven dozen cookies. This way, everyone can go home with a dozen of everyone’s cookies. This cuts down on the baking for everyone and always makes for a fun time.

A Themed Party

Sure, it’s the holidays. But why not have a themed party anyway? This is the time that everyone has to get a little break from work, so make your holiday party memorable by having a themed party. This could be as simple as having a Star Trek party and learning to say Happy Hannukah in Vulcan, or it could be as elaborate as having a Tarts’n’Vicars party. You might even want to have a football party one day and have everyone over to watch your favourite sport.

A Costume Party

A costume party is an extension of the theme party idea. You could allow people to choose their own costumes. You could have a fancy dress masquerade ball, where everyone wears fancy dress but has to have the small masquerade mask too. (These ones are always a lot of fun!) Of course, if you can also have themed costume parties, such as a superhero costume party. For more information on costumes, visit the website below, The Guide to Costumes.
Do some Charity

Why not collect canned goods from your party goers for admission? Or you could have a party where each person brings a small toy to be donated to needy children. You could consider theming your party around such organizations as Operation: Shoebox, where you could each bring in a shoe box with gifts.

A Tasting Party

While we are all familiar with certain holiday tastes, can you and your friends stump each other with food? Bring in your most exotic recipes. Each person has to guess five ingredients from the recipes. The person with the most accurate tastebuds wins a door-prize (often, a recipe book is a good door prize).

You can also have a wine tasting (or beer tasting, or even pop tasting) party. See if your friends have discerning palates by testing out their tastebuds. Often, a beer tasting party is a good time because people think they can tell a lot about different kinds of beer!
In the end, the main rule for throwing holiday parties is that there are no rules for holiday parties! Choose your venue, choose your theme, and choose your entertainment.

An Easy Way To Find Teen Plus Size Clothing (Party and Holiday Accessory Retail)

An Easy Way To Find Teen Plus Size Clothing

If you are a plus size teen then it can be very hard to buy the clothing that you want if you do not live near a big city. The big cities tend to be quite well catered for with plenty of specialist shops that can provide you with a good choice of full figured clothing and accessories. A lot of the larger retail stores are also a lot better than they used to be at stocking a wider range of plus size clothing. Unfortunately if you do not live near a city then it is not so easy finding larger size teen clothing. If you are a teen then you want to be keeping up with the latest fashions and it is likely that even if there is a plus size shop in your town they are not going to be able to stock a wide variety of the latest fashions.

However, there are options that are available allowing you the opportunity to buy the latest teen plus size clothing no matter where you live provided you are prepared to order from home. Of course everybody would rather see the clothes that they are buying and be able to try them on in the store before they buy, but if you want the latest fashions and are not able to get to a city where there are stores that stock them then ordering from home can be a really good idea. There are really two ways that you can do this.

A lot of the larger plus size stores have home order catalogs that you can send off for. They do not always contain all of their clothes or the very latest fashions, but they do have a much better range than most small stores do. Best of all there is no need to worry about the clothes not fitting or not looking the way that you want them to because most of the stores that do mail order have a good return policy and many of them pay the postage for returns so that it will not cost you anything at all.

Another good way to get the best teen plus size clothing is to visit the websites and online plus size fashion stores. They usually have a really good variety of designs for the full figured women and very good prices as they do not have the same costs as retail stores. They are also able to change the stock on their sites as new fashions arrive so you should always be able to keep up with the latest trends. Buying good fashionable plus size clothing does not have to be a problem. There are plenty of ways that you can keep up with the latest fashions and even if you have to order from home then at least you know that the fashions will be good.
